Teaching is my passion! My mum, dad and stepdad are all teachers along with so many of our family friends so I think that it's in my blood.
Before becoming a teacher I completed a Business degree at the University of Technology, Sydney. I then set off overseas, travelling through South, Central and North America before settling in London for 2 years.
On returning to Australia I enrolled at Sydney University to complete my Masters of Teaching; knowing teaching was the career for me. I was excited to be able to share my knowledge and experience of the world with children.
Since graduating, I have taught a range of K-6 classes and I even went back to study, completing my Certificate of Gifted Education at the University of New South Wales.
In 2012 I was promoted to Brookvale Public School as Assistant Principal and I LOVE it! (I was born and bred on Sydney's Northern Beaches.) I teach Stage 3 (Years 5 & 6) and my class is amazing. They are funny, always willing to learn, adventurous and enthusiastic.
I love the outdoors, spending time with my family and friends, travelling, and any form of sport. I play football for a local football club and in winter I love going snowboarding. Going to the beach in summer is one of my favourite things to do. I am an avid traveller, having been to Europe, South, Central and North America and parts of Asia. There are so many countries that I would still love to visit!
My classroom is a rainbow of colour full of children's work, displays, pictures and books. I am known to be an organiser, list maker, DIY-er and always full of energy.
I hope you enjoy reading about our journey in 5/6S
