Athletics Carnival
The rain and wind stayed away and we had a brilliant Athletics Carnival on Tuesday 24th June! Everyone participated to the best of their ability and it was wonderful to see so many people cheering others on. We broke a few records which was a wonderful effort. Unfortunately I don't have many photos as I was busy on the recorders table! If anyone has some, please share them!
FIFA World Cup 2014 - Brazil
World Cup Fever has hit 5/6S! Have you seen our display out the front of the classroom? Come and check it out!
Everyone has a team they are following (drawn out of a hat) and they are responsible for putting up the scores each day. We are also doing a mini contract on the World Cup (why not when it only happens once every 4 years) and this is due at the end of the first week back to school. It's a bit of fun but everyone is expected to have a go thank you.
We all wish Australia the best of luck! There will be some weary eyes for the next month I'm sure (including myself) as we get up early to support Australia and other teams we may be following.

Dance
We are having so much fun in dance every Wednesday! Keep an eye out as new photos are added. Don't forget that sports uniform is worn every Wednesday. Happy dancing!
Cross Country Carnival
The Cross Country Carnival was again a huge success this year and it's noticeable how fitness at school (and those that do it in their own time) has contributed to more students running for longer and faster! Congratulations to all who competed and did their best. Well done and keep up the great work with your fitness!
Fitness
Fitness happens nearly every day at Brookvale Public School. Sometimes it's in the form of sport or dance and other times we run laps around the school or do strengthening activities. Although sometimes we might moan a little, we secretly like it and can't help but try and be better each time. All the activities we do can be done at home as well so why not show your family what we do!
Swimming Carnival
Another fantastic swimming carnival with a huge level of support from each house who were cheering on the competitors. Well done to everyone who went in a race and brilliant effort from those who then went on to the Zone to represent the school. Great work!
Congratulations Keith on your outstanding effort and making it through to the state! You must following in Emily's footsteps.

Zumba!!
In Term 1 we rotated around different sports during sports time. When we were with Miss Surrest, we enjoyed 45minutes of Zumba! What fun we had! There certainly are some groovers and shakers in Stage 3!
Think Outside - No Box Required
We had a visit from Narrabeen Institute of Sports and they did some exciting activities with us. They were a lot of fun and we worked on team building activities and following instructions. Some activities were tricky!

Friday sport
We love playing sport with 5/6P. We had a huge game of capture the flag on the oval. You really have to work as a team and think of tactics you can use when playing this game.
