Today we had a visit from Middle Harbour Whipper Skippers and boy were they fantastic! What a wonderful performance they put on! If we keep practising, we might be as good as them! Click here to see some footage...
We had another visit from Nicola today from the Heart Foundation. She taught us how to do lots of different tricks with the skipping ropes. How many of these can you do?
We have started Jump Rope for Heart! Today, Mitch and Nicola came to school to tell us all about Jump Rope for Heart. There are a lot of prizes we can win by collecting sponserships and then skipping. This will help raise much needed funds for people with heart disease.
All forms that go home today must be returned to school before the 'Jump Off' date (Friday 12th September) with the money you have raised. You can also fill out your sponsorship online which is easier and there are additional prizes that you can win, only by completing it online! So... click, flick and skip! "Heart Foundation Jump Rope for Heart is all about teaching Aussie kids how to keep fit and healthy. It improves their strength and confidence in physical activities and builds healthy bones and muscles. Students can have lots of fun with their class mates and play lots of skipping games too. At the same time they will be helping save Australian lives by asking their family and friends to sponsor them for being a part of this fun program. Funds raised go towards research to help the fight against heart disease and stroke." Heart Foundation website. |
Miss SurrestTeaching is my passion! My mum, dad and stepdad are all teachers along with so many of our family friends so I think that it's in my blood.
I was brought up on Sydney's Northern Beaches and absolutely love teaching at Brookvale Public School. I teach Stage 3 (Years 5 & 6) and my class is amazing. They are funny, always willing to learn, adventurous and enthusiastic. Enjoy following our path and seeing what we get up to in 5/6S. Archives
